Guide 2 · The Basics
Your Fighters
Your fighters are the heart of BOC Arena. Keep them fed and happy, train their stats, and learn what makes each one special. This guide covers everything about raising a great bird.
The Great Migration & The Void Mystery
Where did these fierce gladiators come from?
To this day, the scholars of Jankenmura debate how the first fighting birds arrived. Nobody truly knows why they migrated from the endless dark of the Void, nor how a rift opened a path directly into the Dark Woods bordering our peaceful village.
Furthermore, a classic academic "chicken and egg" debate has divided the local academies for years:
- Some scholars believe these battle-hardened birds are the ancestral pure breeds, and the timid, domestic fowl we see in the human world today are their degenerate, softened descendants who lost their edge in safety.
- Others argue the exact opposite—that ordinary, gentle birds from our world somehow stumbled through the rift into the Void, and were forced to evolve, growing wings as blades and hearts of steel just to survive that hostile abyss.
Whichever theory you believe, one thing is certain: these birds are built to fight, and they have chosen Jankenmura as their home.
Hunger & Happiness
Two bars to keep an eye on every visit.
🍖 Hunger
Hunger slowly drops while you're away. Feed your fighter a crop to fill it back up (+250 each). If hunger ever reaches zero, your fighter starves — so don't leave them hungry for too long.
💛 Happiness
Happiness (also called affection) starts at 50% and goes from 0 to 100%. A happy fighter performs better and stays by your side. If happiness ever falls to 0%, your fighter gets sad and leaves you for good.
Three ways to interact
You can pat or scold each fighter about once a day.
🤚 Pat
+5% Happiness
A friendly pat makes your fighter like you more. Simple and safe — do it often to keep happiness high.
😠 Scold
−5% Happiness trains every stat
Scolding upsets your fighter a little, but the anger pushes them to train — it adds experience to all six stats at once. A useful trade when you want quick growth.
🥗 Feed
+250 Hunger trains stats
Feeding fills hunger and trains stats based on the crop. Feed a fighter's favorite crop type for bonus happiness; avoid their disliked type, which annoys them.

Opposites: pick a directionThe stats come in three rival pairs — Strength ↔ Mind, Speed ↔ Toughness, and Aim ↔ Luck. You can grow any of them, but leaning hard one way is what gives a fighter its identity. A bruiser and a dodger play very differently.

Best friends: a free bonusSome stats work great together — Strength & Toughness, Speed & Aim, and Mind & Luck. Crops that train one of these friendly pairs give a little +10% training bonus. Lean into a pair and you grow faster.
Experience & levels
How stats grow
Every stat builds up experience (EXP). When a stat collects enough EXP, it goes up a point. You earn EXP by:
- Feeding crops
- Scolding (a burst to every stat)
- Grazing on your farm
- Winning — and even losing — arena fights
- Using boosters (risky shortcut)
Climbing gets harder
The first point of a stat is cheap; later points cost more and more EXP. That's on purpose — it keeps strong fighters special.
Your fighter's overall Level (LVL) grows from the total of all their training. A fresh hatchling starts at LVL 1 and climbs as you train.
Traits
Every fighter is born with two special talents.
Traits are bonus abilities that make a fighter shine in battle. Each fighter always has exactly two different traits:
| Trait | What it does |
| Focused | Uses a sharp mind to dodge better and aim better. |
| Lethal | Turns great aim into harder hits and more critical strikes. |
| Brute | Turns toughness into extra punch and slow healing during a fight. |
| Tactical | Uses speed to aim better and recover energy faster. |
| Berserk | Turns raw strength into more health and more critical hits. |
| Blessed | Turns luck into better dodging and harder hits. |
Fighting styles
Each bloodline fights to its own rhythm.
In the arena, fighters clash using moves a bit like Rock, Paper, Scissors — plus a special Jump that dodges and sets up a stronger hit. Every bloodline leans toward different moves:
- Cinder & Crag love Rock — heavy, forceful styles.
- Mist & Moss love Paper — patient, flowing styles.
- Blitz & Shiv love Scissors — fast, cutting styles.
- Bocky is balanced and comfortable with anything.
A bloodline is also a bit more accurate with its favorite move — so a fighter that plays to its style hits more often.
Lineage Spotlights & Guides: Battle stats
Your six stats quietly create these in-fight numbers.
❤️ Health
How much damage your fighter can take. Mostly from Toughness, with a little Strength.
⚡ Stamina
Energy for attacking. Runs low if a fighter swings too much, forcing it to guard and catch its breath.
⚔️ Attack
Damage per hit. Built from Strength and Aim.
💨 Dodge
Chance to avoid an attack. Built from Speed and Mind.
🎯 Accuracy
Chance to land a hit. Built from Aim and Mind.
🍀 Critical
Chance for a double-damage hit — and lucky blocks against enemy crits. Powered by Luck.
Growing up & growing old
Age in days
Fighters get older every game day. Young fighters are spry; very old fighters tire faster and dodge a little less. A fighter that reaches 60 days old peacefully passes away of old age — so make their prime count.
Fighter states
You'll see small status tags on your fighters:
Active ready for anything ·
KO knocked out, resting ·
Breeding in the nest ·
Arena locked for an event ·
Dead gone for good

A simple routineFeed when hungry, pat to keep happiness up, scold now and then for fast training, and feed favorite crops for bonus love. That's a healthy, growing fighter.

Don't ignore the warning signsLow hunger leads to starvation, and low happiness makes a fighter leave. Both can happen while you're away — so top them up before you log off.
